A Helpful Mantra as you Shop For Your Gown
I have a helpful little mantra for you as you navigate the roller coaster of emotions involved in selecting your wedding gown. Here it goes:
Fear and excitement feel very similar.
I’m pretty sure I got this from Amy Poehler, and I think about it all the time. But so often when a bride is on the pedestal, in a gown, and is having *the moment*, she can sometimes confuse those butterflies with fear. And what can happen when you confuse excitement with fear, is your instinct is to put on the breaks, hit pause on the moment, and retreat to collect your thoughts. When clearer heads prevail, the bride realizes she was actually just incredibly excited about the gown, but now the moment has passed and can’t really be replicated in the same way.
So when you feel those butterflies in that moment, remind yourself that fear and excitement feel very similar. Maybe even tell yourself, “look how excited I am!” It’s an important way to reframe your feelings so that you don’t end up missing out on one of those truly once-in-a-lifetime memorable moments with your people.
So try that, and follow along for more gown shopping tips.
XO, Andrea
