Who Should I Bring to my Bridal Appointment?

Let’s talk about who to bring with you when you go wedding gown shopping. One of the most common pieces of advice you’ll hear is this: keep your shopping group small, one to two people, max.

And while we absolutely understand and support that philosophy, we’ve worked with enough brides to know… that, for the most part, this advice is often ignored.

So let’s take a different approach. Instead of focusing on the size of your group, focus on building the right group for you. Because the truth is, you know yourself better than anyone else.

I’ve seen brides bring larger groups, five, six, even eight very opinionated friends and family members, and handle it beautifully. One bride that will always stand out to me looked at her group and said, “I know you all hate my dress, but I love it, and I’m going to look fabulous in it.”

An icon.

But not every bride feels comfortable pushing back like that, and that’s okay. What matters most is being honest with yourself about what you need in that moment. Do you want a quiet, intimate experience? Or do you thrive with more energy and input around you?

In our experience, the best shopping groups, whether big or small, have a few things in common: they are positive, supportive, and they listen before they speak. Most importantly, they are there to be the bride’s biggest cheerleaders.

Because at the end of the day, this experience is about you. And the people you bring should help you feel confident, supported, and completely yourself as you find your dress.

With love,
