Samantha + Cody

September 27, 2024

“I seriously couldn’t have asked for a better experience at House of White. From the second I walked through the door, I just felt giddy and excited - and I was welcomed by the warmest, most genuine ladies. Everyone made me feel so comfortable and like I was the only bride in the world, and for that I’m so appreciative. Addy was fun and spunky and FANTASTIC! She immediately brought my vision to life and helped me find my dream dress so so quick (literally, it was the second one she picked out)!! And Andrea was always popping in to hype me up and ensure that I felt beautiful. Thank you ladies for all that you do - I’m grateful to have made these memories with you all :) 100000000/10 recommend!!” - Samantha

TELL US ABOUT YOUR BAE!

“My husband Cody and I met in PT school while at WKU (which is why we chose to get married back in Bowling Green as it was a sentimental place to us)! He was in the cohort below me, but my friend's boyfriend was Cody's roommate at the time, so we all ended up spending a lot of time together outside of classes/labs (esp. during the 2020 COVID summer). Our friendship turned into something more; and after both of our DPT graduations and residency programs, we moved to Nashville, Tennessee together. After ~2.5 years together, Cody planned the perfect Saturday "date day" for us consisting of all my favorite things - going on a long walk in a local park, getting lunch at a rooftop bar, shopping, getting drinks at a wine bar, and then going to dinner downtown at the place where we had our first date as an "official couple." Afterwards, we got some dessert and went on a walk on the riverfront where he had a full setup of rose pedals, candles, framed pictures of us, and a photographer at the ready to capture the proposal. Funny thing is - I had NO idea that he was going to propose! We alternate planning these "date days" for each other every month; so to me, it was just another fun weekend planned together. He really got me good!”

WEDDING DAY ADVICE FOR FUTURE BRIDES

“This is YOUR DAY! Don't let any person or anything you see online try to convince you to do things that don't feel like "you." Don't let anyone try to convince y0u that you aren't doing/spending enough. If you want to DIY, then do it. If you want to hire a planner, then do it! Do whatever you need to do to actually ENJOY this exciting chapter and decrease the stress as much as possible. Know that something will go wrong during the planning process and even on the wedding day - someone will get sick, a table will collapse during dinner (like it did at mine, LOL), your cake might be the right flavor... Who cares! This is one of the biggest days of your life - make the most of it and try to remember that you can't control anything other than your mindset.”

FAVORITE ACCESSORY FROM YOUR WEDDING DAY

“Besides my BEAUTIFUL wedding dress, I'd have to say my pearl platform wedding heels. I had gone through ordering 4 different pairs from different websites/companies before I finally found the PERFECT pair and it was 100000% worth it.”

A SPECIAL MOMENT FROM YOUR WEDDING DAY

“Thankfully we had always planned to hold our ceremony, cocktail, and reception indoors because we got married the same weekend as Hurricane Helene (though getting vendors and guests in/out of the building was a wild ride). SOOOO, we heard that having rain on your wedding day is good luck, right? Well, we must have 5x the good luck now! But the downpour did lighten up later in the day, so our photographer came outside with us for pictures in the rain and it was SO MUCH FUN!”

Thank you for sharing your day with us! We loved sharing a small part of it with you!
