“My husband's name is Jacob. We met in medical school in Kansas City, Missouri. He graduated a couple years ahead of me and moved to Florida for work, so we've been doing long distance for the last couple years while I finished school in Kansas City. We got engaged on the most magical trip of a lifetime. We had planned this big road trip from Florida to Kansas City, where we were going to stop in Asheville, North Carolina, to hike and to visit the Biltmore Estate, then up to Nashville, Tennessee, then to my hometown in Illinois in Christopher, and finally to Kansas City to visit his family! Our second day in Asheville after hiking all day the day before, we went to the Biltmore Estate to tour the grounds. Next thing I knew, Jacob dropped to a knee on a hill in front of the estate while a whole elementary school class stood below us on a field trip. Next thing I knew, I said yes and kids erupted in cheers! He had a secret photographer there and then we had a surprise engagement session followed by a stay at the Bed and Breakfast on site. It was seriously the most magical, whirlwind of a day and everyday since then has been just as much of a dream!”
