Bridal Fashion Week Recap
Oh, how we love New York Bridal Fashion Week. The unveiling of fabulous new gowns and the emergence of fun new trends…we just can’t get enough. This most recent Bridal Fashion Week was no exception, as designers pulled out all the stops and launched jaw-dropping collections of new bridal gowns and accessories.
Every season new trends emerge, and with the immediacy of digital media, brides are able to crave these trends quicker than ever - and we’re excited to deliver! But first let’s recap all of our favorite trends we saw emerge throughout New York Bridal Fashion Week.
Trend #1: Texture and volume
It would appear that slim, effortless gowns are transitioning from prominence to make way for grand ballgowns once again. The ballgown silhouette has been making a subtle comeback recently, but it’s presence at Bridal Fashion Week was undeniable. Whether it’s an opulent textured skirt or a minimal-chic crisp mikado, a fitted bodice that explodes into a voluminous skirt is definitely the silhouette of the moment.
Trend #2: off-the-shoulder necklines
For 2024 brides, a cold shoulder is not a bad thing :) Designers offered a multitude of off-the-shoulder designs this season, undeniably establishing it as the preferred neckline of the season. We saw off-the-shoulder necklines that were accompanied by voluminous sleeves, or sexy draped sleeves in silk charmeuse. This neckline can be rendered in a way that is sexy and modern, or in a way that evokes classic, almost royal-wedding vibes.
Trend #3: Matching sleeves and gloves
To piggyback off of the previous trend, the consistent theme of matching sleeves and gloves on the runways introduces a variation on the off-the-shoulder trend. When worn with a strapless gown, a detachable sleeve that extends to the bicep creates an off-the-shoulder illusion with the benefit of full range of motion. It’s a sleek and modern look we can’t wait to play with!
Trend #4: statement veils
Cathedral veils made a comeback a while ago, and have shown no signs of slowing down. Season after season, our brides consistently prefer the long lines and classic elegance of a veil that extends past their train. This season, designers are taking that look up a notch by emphasizing statement veils with eye-catching details. Bold floral embroidery, ruffles and textured floral appliques are all variations of this trend we saw at Bridal Fashion Week, all providing a unique way to complete a bridal look. Our brides have been loving our collection of floral embroidered veils, and we can’t wait to show them what we have coming soon :)
If there’s a new bridal trend you’re dying to explore, let us know! We’re always eager to match brides to their perfect bridal look that feels as good as it looks.
