Bridesmaid Looks We're Loving

Few things define a wedding day’s “signature style” quite like the bridesmaids’ attire. Like it or not, the maids set the tone for the wedding day and define the vibe of your event like few other things can. Are the bridesmaids in classic matching chiffon dresses in a delicate blush pink? Then this wedding couldn’t be more classic. Are the bridesmaids wearing a bold mix of jewel toned looks in the form of jumpsuits, evening gowns, ruffles and florals? Then get ready because this wedding is a party.

No matter what you want your bridal party to say with their looks, we have some fab options and tips for dressing your maids to perfection. Let’s start with some inspo!

Trend #1: Blushy Patterns

Blush pink is a bridesmaid color palette that’s as classic as it comes. If you want the most timeless option for your dresses, you can’t go wrong. It’s flattering on all skin tones, and depending on the styling can be relatively seasonless. For our 2023/2024 brides, we’d consider modernizing this look with delicate patterns and textures! Whether in matching styles or mixed and matched, thinking outside the box with the fabrication will make this color palette feel oh-so-fresh and modern.

Trend #2: Unexpected Color Palettes

I’d imagine that if you told someone your bridesmaid dresses were a mix of “avacado, burnt orange, chartreuse, hot pink, and teal”, you’d get a response of utter confusion. But seeing is believing, and we can’t deny that a bold mix of striking dresses in an unextected color palette is nothing short of fabulous. If you’re looking to execute such a vibe, we suggest first looking for your source of inspiration. Whether it’s a stunning Turkish rug or your favorite Picasso, take one piece and pull from it your color spectrum. Then pretend you’re a 1st grade teacher and assign each bridesmaid their color, no questions asked. With a bit of inspiration and some clear direction, any party can pull off this striking combination.

Trend #3: Girly Pop

Never for the faint of heart, a group of ladies dressed head to toe in shades of bold pink is a force to be reckoned with. Saturated shades of pinks, magentas, and purples make a powerful statement, and scream “this is a party”. Don’t be shy to mix textures, lengths, shades, sequins, you name it! The more variety the better!

Need some tips for styling your bridal party?

  • Start with a solid source of inspiration, and keep it on hand to help convey your vision to your maids.

  • Don’t be afraid to get specific. While some parties will work great with broad instructions (“pick any blue dress!”), other parties may work better with specific directions (“You three pick light blue dresses, you two pick dark blue, you pick a jumpsuit”), etc.

  • The options are limitless when you explore outside traditional bridesmaid brands. Your maids can pick a beautiful ready-to-wear dress from their favorite brand, and they’ll be fore more likely to wear it again.

  • Think sustainably! By giving your maids more leeway, it’s possible they may already have a dress in their closet that fits the bill. Either way, they’ll be less likely to toss their bridesmaid look after the wedding if they have some choice in the matter.

  • Start a Pinterest board that you share with your maids with actual shoppable dress options in a variety of pricepoints. It’s ok to ask your maids to check with you before they purchase, that way you can ensure that all the dresses are flowing together nicely. Your maids want to help and by no means want to stand out like a sore thumb, so they’ll appreciate your gentle honesty!
