New York Bridal Fashion Week Trends

Tis the season for fresh bridal fashion! Hannah and Andrea ventured to NYC last month for New York Bridal Fashion Week, where the top luxury brands in bridal design showcase all their newest collections. They came, they saw, they bought, and now they’re ready to share!

Let’s take a look at some of their favorite trends they saw on repeat that are destined to be big for 2024!

Dropped Waistlines

For the past season or so, ballgowns have been bigger than ever (in terms of popularity…not size;). And this season a subtle recurring trend is the subtle lowering of the waistline on these gorgeous silhouettes. In many ways we’re seeing nods to historic fashion elements in bridal trends, and by showcasing lowered waistlines and/or corset bodices, it creates a look that’s equal parts fresh and timeless.

3D Florals

Floral elements always have their place in bridal fashion, but this season they’ve got some extra pop. Designers are incorporating voluminous floral elements in to their design, giving irresistible texture and depth to your bridal look. No matter the price point, three dimensional floral details always have a knack for making a piece look high-end. Prepare to see 3D florals on veils, shoes, all over gowns, or one single punch of florals on a simple style.

Bold earrings

We never forget the accessories! It’s always fascinating to see the jewelry and veil trends that pop up across the runway shows, and this season our favorite theme was bold earrings! We’re talking big, beautiful costume-jewelry-esque earrings that pack a punch. Gold details definitely still reign supreme among bridal jewelry, but the size and impact are large and bold compared to the delicate pearl and crystal styles of seasons past.

Convertible Styles

And finally we conclude with what was probably the most prominent trend of them all: convertible gowns. I.E., gowns that had a detachable element that gives the illusion of two separate looks in one. Whether it’s an overskirt, a removable sleeve, a detachable bodice overlay, designers are acknowledging that brides want a ‘second look’. We’re loving all these options and always love styling two cohesive looks for a bride.

Some of our favorite styles from NYBFW have already started to trickle into House of White! Others will be here in a few months. Whatever the trend you’re looking to incorporate, rest assured that House of White will always have a finger on the pulse of the latest and greatest in luxe bridal designs. Happy shopping!
