Why WE Love Made With Love

Leslie, Hannah and I were thrilled to be attending Bridal Fashion Week last Fall, and one of the many events we were looking forward to the MOST was the cocktail party and fashion show hosted by Made With Love. After two-plus years of post pandemic life, we were ready to put on our heels and sip champagne in a beautiful city.

And unlike some things in life, this event totally lived up to the hype (and by that I mean the hype within our own brains). We walked into a beautiful candle lit venue and were greeted by the amazing Made With Love team, all dressed in custom white ensembles and styled with that breezy effervescence that the Aussies have completely perfected. Every member of the MWL gang embodied how WE would characterize the brand: elegant, fresh and feminine, but without an ounce of fuss or frills. It’s why we’ve come to love the brand so much, and why our brides back home have as well.

We were giddily sipping champagne, nibbling hors d’eouvres and chatting with the other fabulous retailers while we waited for the doors to open to the runway show space; we were ready to see some fashion. But as luck would have it, we decided to cross to the bar back of the room for a top-up just as the doors were opened and the space was flooded with an eager crowd…and thus, all the seats were taken and we were left to squeeze ourselves into a little space standing near front. Not ideal, but survivable.

As the lights dimmed and an intro video played, we realized we were standing next to none other than Made With Love founder, head designer, and creative director Carla Jenkins, nervously looking over her notes for her welcome speech and gripping a microphone with white knuckles. She looked at us and through a clenched smile whispered “I hate public speaking”. What a humbling moment - here we had the chicest, most effortlessly elegant woman one could imagine, about to begin her highly anticipated fashion show at New York Bridal Fashion Week, and rather than being pumped up and full of swagger, she was nervous. We gave her the best pep talk one can get from three strangers before she said a warm “Thanks!”, approached the stage and gave an opening speech that was gracious, endearing - and above all - humble.

We loved having that little moment with Carla, and realizing that the vibe we get from the brand is completely authentic; a Made with Love bride is gracious, effortless, elegant, and humble. The designs are strikingly uncomplicated, and while they definitely have “wow factor”, they also allow the bride to just…be. I think it’s this essence that draws brides to this brand, and just like their cocktail parties, their gowns also live up to the hype.

We’ve been so thrilled to be a Made with Love stockist, and the response to the collection from our brides has been delightful. That’s why we’re excited to be hosting our Made with Love Trunk Show February 3 - 11. It’s an amazing opportunity to see the “greatest hits” from the collection, as the oh-so-stylish Made With Love team will be sending us their very favorite styles. And based on our first-hand experience, trust us when we way they have great taste :)

Book your appointment for our “Best of Made With Love Trunk Show” right here, and we look forward to helping you say “Yes” to your Made With Love wedding dress!

XO,

Andrea
