If you have been wedding shopping within the past few years, you’ve likely seen various styles of gowns available in a crepe fabric. You’ll know them by their sumptuous feel, fresh bright ivory color, and elegant drape. They can be embellished with lace that is beaded or matte, or is often styled completely plain for a strikingly minimal look.

Crepe is a fabric that we’ve seen rise in popularity, and we can completely understand why. Crepe has the ability to both celebrate the figure, while also smoothing it out for a flawless look. Our brides love the comfort of crepe and moves with the body rather than feeling restrictive. Also the nature of this fabric lends itself to flawless all day wear, as it is not prone to wrinkling or creasing. Designers have utilized this dreamy fabric in a multitude of ways, so there’s literally a style for every bride. We’ve gladly been collecting a gorgeous menu of options for the crepe-loving bride; some brand new styles and some forever favorites that brides keep loving season after season.

Model wears Archie by Made with Love, a silk crepe slip wedding dress with a low cowl back and spaghetti straps.

When we debuted the Made with Love collection at our Trunk Show this Summer, countless brides came to their appointment with a picture of the Archie gown in tow. And we’re pleased to say it did not disappoint! This stunner is a minimalist dream, with clean lines and a stunning back detail.

A model wears Epico by Pronovias, a strapless wedding gown made of silk crepe with lace applique available at House of White.

The “Epico” gown by Pronovias is fan favorite that was just added to the House of White collection. Sometimes a bride may love the slim silhouette a crepe gown creates, but craves a little more detail. In cases like these, Epico is the answer. The subtle placement of delicate lace is the perfect compliment to a sumptuous crepe.

Antiope is another new addition to our collection from the talented team at Pronovias. The soft drape of the cowl neckline is just as perfect for a small bustline as it is for a bride with curves. The plunged cowl back creates a stunning view from all angles, and is nicely priced just under $2,000 for a gorgeous look at a modest price point.

a bride wears Scarlet by Alyssa Kristin, an off-the-shoulder crepe a-line gown available at House of White in Newburgh Indiana.

The biggest misconception about crepe wedding gowns is that they’re only flattering to certain figures. We disagree! Our curvy brides love the look of crepe on their shape, and the matte finish of crepe fabric is incredibly wearable and photographs beautifully. We love it so much we just added Scarlet by Alyssa Kristin to our collection in a size 24. She’s lovely!

Our collection of crepe styles are truly endless, but we’re so thrilled to add these new styles to the mix. If you’re curious about seeing a stunning crepe gown for yourself, be open to exploring one at your upcoming bridal appointment! It never hurts to try it, and you may fall in love with something unexpected!
