Color Palettes We’re Loving

Weddings have certainly evolved over the past 11 years in many ways, some subtle and some significant. One trend we’ve seen emerge over the past few years that we’re particularly loving are the unique color palettes that have emerged.

Gone are the days when a bride selects a singular color, her bridesmaids purchase dresses in said color, and any decorative elements are done in the matching color. Nowadays, brides are embracing the entire range of the rainbow, and with the popularity of mix-and-match bridesmaids going strong, color palettes are emerging that lend a freshness to an entire affair.

We’ve combed through our favorite sources for wedding inspiration to pinpoint a few of our very favorite wedding party color palettes - let’s discuss!

watercolor shades

A soft palette of muted pastels and watery blues makes for a light and fresh color palette that doesn’t feel like Easter Sunday attire. We especially love this color palette when executed in frothy lightweight textured dresses.

soft brights

This is one of those color pallets where, if you tried to describe it to someone you’ll probably get a confused blank stare in return. That’s ok — you can keep your color palette as a surprise. While the colors are somewhat vibrant, their tone is soft and saturated. It’s a fun vibe without looking too juvenile.

Multi-colored florals

We particularly love this look for a holiday weekend Summer wedding; think Memorial Day, Labor day, etc. The overlapping of patters creates an effervescent vibe, and we love that there’s a connecting thread of pink throughout the palette for cohesion.

citrus shades

We love a mixture of citrus shades for a daytime wedding! It’s a beautiful palette if a portion of your event will be outdoors…we especially love a photo op with white parasols ;) Slinky satin dresses modernize this look more than a traditional chiffon bridesmaid dress, and don’t be afraid to incorporate some prints!

fall monochrome

Traditional Fall colors can seem so overdone, so these palettes of monochromatic singular shades is a perfect refresh for this trend. We love the idea of shades of rust, or chocolately neutrals! Mixing up the textures of your dresses helps complete the look, and be sure to find the perfect spot for photos is the Fall foliage.

green + white

Blue and white florals have been a strong trend for a while now, so we find the switch to green and white florals utterly refreshing! It’s a nice way to incorporate subtle florals without overpowering the day, and partners nicely with green and white wedding florals.

champagne + black

When in doubt, you can never go wrong with champagne and black. If you’re not big on wedding planning, and the thought of exhausting your brain with the barrage of color options, champagne bridesmaid dresses paired with black tuxedos are always a beautiful choice without appearing too boring. It works for daytime or nighttime, and can be styled more formal or more casual depending on the formality of the day.
