Today we’re kicking off a new series we’re calling “Designer Love”: sharing what we love about each of our designers and what makes them such an essential part of the House of White collection.
One of the many reasons we love being an intimate boutique is that it requires us to select our designers with a very discerning eye: every inch of space on our racks is invaluable and any designer who’s gowns we carry must be worthy. So, if you’re saying ‘Yes’ to your dream dress at House of White, you can be assured that you’re wearing the best-of-the-best in terms of quality, style, and craftsmanship.
Today we’re talking about one of - if not the - most enduring brands in our collection: Martina Liana. House of White has been partnering with Martina Liana for over 5 years, and they’ve never let us down. Let’s talk about a few reasons why we adore the Martina Liana collection.
Make it your own
No designer has perfected the process of custom wedding gowns quite like Martina Liana…and after 11 years in the biz, we can attest that we’ve done the research. As far as the Martina Liana team is concerned, the sky is the limit when it comes to modifying their gowns to a bride’s specifications. Add a sleeve? No problem. Combine this top with that skirt? You got it! Add enough length to a train that it resides in a different time zone? Done and done :) They truly care about giving brides exactly what they want, and our brides love being able to make their wedding gown completely unique and personal. We customize countless Martina Liana styles every year, and we have no plans of slowing down.
A diverse collection
One thing we love about seeing the new Martina Liana collection debut every season is that we never know what to expect! Martina Liana doesn’t limit themselves to one specific look or one specific type of bride. Their collections evolve with the needs of brides and culture of weddings overall. Their collections will always have something for everyone, while still maintaining a common thread of elevated style and perfected craftsmanship. That’s not to say they don’t have an identifiable style - they most definitely do. But they are constantly adapting to the needs of brides by doing their version of what brides are wanting, whether it’s slit skirts, corseted tops, or boho vibes. They’re incredibly responsive to evolving trends in the industry, which brings us to our next point…
Research, research, research
One way Martina Liana sets themselves apart in the industry is their extensive process of research and development. They’ve pioneered the process of product testing their gowns on real brides, constantly curating and modifying their collections before their official debut. When testing new gowns, they travel to stores throughout the country to let real brides shop their designs and provide feedback. So when we’re looking at their new collection, Martina Liana is able to tell us exactly why brides loved it.
And lastly…
Last but not least, Martina Liana easily fulfills the baseline requirement at House of White of carrying designers who are size inclusive, and whose gowns are made ethically with fair labor practices. At House of White we believe it’s worth paying a little more for a quality wedding gown when you know the skilled craftspeople who made it were paid a living wage.
